TOPIC: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Demand Forecasting
In several consumer goods industries, an accurate demand forecast is a challenge. In
recent years, software providers and global companies have started to use artificial
intelligence and machine learning approaches to improve the forecasting capability.
Based on a review of recent academic literature and company interviews, the student will
reflect the current state of those applications (mathematical models, pre-requisites and
limitations, achieved performance) and give an outlook of future trends.
RESEARCH QUESTION:
How might Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning assist firms in making accurate market forecasts?
Double line spacing, Harvard referencing style, University level.
Literature review– focuson the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning on the forecasting of goods market demand (Supply chain and retail forecast).
Structure of paper– meaning how to structure the contents that are found in the paper, what kind of chapters and sub-chapters will be used, how will the paper begin, like “What is Artificial Intelligence, what is Machine Learning, What is Demand Forecasting”, New technologies in demand forecasting and so on.
Research Methodology (the focus of the research: literature review and assessment of examples where artificial intelligence and machine learning were used in demand forecasting; use of keywords (name those); google scholar as an online database and similar digital libraries (peer reviewed).
Writethe research proposal and focusmainly on the literature review for the given topic, no interviews, surveys or virtual video calls will be needed.
Use at least 10-15peer reviewed journals.
