Write a letter to the families of your students that invites them to come into your classroom and read to the children during National Children’s Book Week – May 2-8.2022.
www.bookweekonline.com
Newsletter should give information about:
1. national book week;
2. tips on how to read books to their children;
3. include something about screen time (phone, tv, computer usage). Look up info on this and give parents some information and tips on screen time. Remember to reference where the information came from.
Your goal is for each family to have a representative from their home/family come to read a book to children in the book corner (not a group time reading). Families need SPECIFIC information on what to do, how to do it, where to sign up, etc. Just tell them to let you know will NEVER yield positive results. MUST BE SPECIFIC!!! Points off if you are not specific and give families details.
The newsletter must be readable – too many words and people leave them on the floor of their cars. Bullets and paragraphs and graphics help to make the newsletter readable. Not enough information and people ignore them. FIND the happy medium. Look at the newsletters that you read!!!
this is how the paper will be graded:
Excellent (4-5 points) Average(3-2 points) Poor (1-0 points)
