Green Buddism

This assignment is fairly open ended but it requires two certain sources in order to complete the essay.  I have attached what my professor had explained to me down below.

For your Green Buddhism paper, develop and expand on the key ideas in the section of our textbook ECOLOGICAL ETHICS (Chapter `0, pp. 146-150). For instance, discuss how the Buddhist philosophical principle of “dependent co arising” (pratitya samutpada) or Interdependence is applied to the Green Buddhist ecological vision of Nature an interconnected web of life, and how the Buddhist moral virtue of “Compassion” (karuna) is applied to the environment. Do you see any similarities of these ideas to other theories we studied (animal liberation, deep ecology, ecofeminist care ethics, the land ethics, gaia theory, etc)? Also, you should include material from D. T. Suzuki’s ZEN & JAPANESE CULTURE, such as the chapter on the Zen Love of Nature. Also, in the Tea Ceremony chapters (look at the Index) Suzuki discusses how the Zen Buddhist aesthetics of wabi-wabi leads to an ecological lifestyle of simplicity. Zen Buddhism is itself a kind of “Green Buddhism” so it should be included in your paper.
